My Memories Digital Scrapbooking Software

I have never done scrapbooking before, so when the company contacted me and asked me to do a review, I jumped at the chance. This software really does live up to their claims. It took me about 10 minutes to take 50 photos and have them digitally placed into a pre-designed scrapbook. Then I could add embellishments, shapes, text and all kinds of other fun stuff built right into the program. I was very surprised at how easy it was for a beginner like me to just jump right in.

You can start right away with ready-made templates, or design something from scratch on your own!

Their online store is also fantastic. You can get lots of stuff for free, such as different paper designs, themes and embellishments. If you choose to, you can buy items as well. Everything is easily integrated with the software after download. They offer tutorials online as well to help you.

One downside is the size of the program. Once installed, it takes up over 1 GB of space and can slow down your computer unless it’s the only program running. The embellishments which come with the program too are a bit limited, but again, you can find additional things for free on their site.

Another great aspect is the fact that you can build pages, then quickly throw them into different things such as a calendar with the click of a button. Everything can easily be printed out to be put into a book, shared via DVD or through an iPod application.

I really enjoyed this program and the price of $39.97 is unbeatable. I researched some of the other programs out there and they really don’t compare!

PBS Sprout

All parents say, before they become parents, that they won't let their child watch too much TV. I give PBS Sprout a huge FIVE star rating. This age appropriate programming is fantastic! I always said I wouldn't let our son watch TV, but since I found Sprout, I've changed my mind a bit. This doesn't mean I let him sit there all day and watch, but it does mean there are some VERY good shows offered on this channel.

They have a "Good Morning" show soon to include the Wiggles, "Let's Go Show", the "Sharing Show" and the "Goodnight Show". I especially like the "Goodnight Show". Every show has a host and a puppet side-kick. As they say, it's "All preschool all the time". The shows are filled with age appropriate cartoons, crafts and education like sign language, music and geography.

My son has learned quite a bit from watching this channel. Every night, he watches some of the "Goodnight Show" for about half an hour as it's intent is to unwind kids with a stretch, a craft, sign language, a song and a few cartoons aimed at getting them ready for bed. It really does the trick with my son and I can't recommend it highly enough! In addition, all of their crafts and skills are listed on their website, www.sproutonline.com.
